Spiral

By Kris West

Finished Result:

Start by Making a new Document about 500 x 500. (It has to be square)

Grab the Square marquee tool

Create a new Layer and start to draw boxes on it with the Marquee tool

Go onto the first layer and Fill it with White if you have not already done so

Now fill in the Rectangles you have created with a colour, I choose Green

Deselect your Selection (Selction > Deselet) then go Edit > Transform > Rotate 90 CW

Then Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates

Now take the text tool

And write something in.
Duplicate this layer, Edit > Transform > Rotate Vertically. Move it into place. Now Reduce its Opacity to around 30ish%.

Place this new Layer behind the First Text layer. Create a New Layer and Make a rectangle about the size of the Text, And just Thicker than the sides.
Fill it in (I choose white).
Now go Filter > Blur > Motion Blur

Now create a Layer mask (On the layer tab) that looks like a circle inside a square) on the Spiral Layer.

Take your gradient tool and make it so it is Black - Invisible (there is a defualt, the second one, which is white to invisible, change white to black).
Drag it in from the corners

Your Layer mask should be like this

You should have something like this now
